Digital pop-up book: Between Page And Screen (by betweenpageandscreen)
Try it out at http://betweenpageandscreen.com/
Between Page And Screen is an augmented-reality book of poems. Like a digital pop-up book, you hold the words in your hands.
Any computer can play Between Page And Screen; all you need is a webcam. Follow the instructions to print out a marker, then visithttp://betweenpageandscreen.com/book , turn on your webcam, and show the marker to your camera. The animations will appear on your screen.
Written by Amaranth Borsuk (http://amaranthborsuk.com/) and programmed by Brad Bouse, the poems comprise a series of letters between two lovers, P and S, as they attempt to define their relationship, as well as animations based on keywords from their letters that draw on the history of concrete poetry.
Produced initially as a limited-edition artist’s book, the book is forthcoming in trade edition from Siglio Press: http://www.sigliopress.com/books/bps.htm

OK Go - Needing/Getting - Official Video (by OkGo)
The new music video from OK Go, made in partnership with Chevrolet. OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they’d play the right note no matter where they were struck. For more information and behind-the-scenes footage, see http://www.LetsDoThis.com andhttp://www.okgo.net. Many thanks to Chevy for believing in and supporting such an insane and ambitious project, and to Gretsch for providing the guitars.
